a good practice is to run out your kedge (rear anchor) when wanting to beach your boat on its bow so you have some extra leverage to pull it off in case the wind shifts or the tide goes out (or in a lake, water level goes down for some reason: like a dam release).

I made a windshield with 1/8 plexiglass vs the 1/4 I should’ve used. You can definitely make one but it takes a lot of patience with a heat gun. Like anything probably takes 3 try’s to get good at.

I have a 2001 16' Boston Whaler with a 115hp 2-Stroke Mercury. Bought it new and still runs like new. I have never had to do anything to it but replace spark plugs and water pump impellers. I'll never change to a 4 stroke unless its mandatory in Michigan.

I like to come up slow on the sandbar and make sure I put it in neutral for a minute and check out how wind and current are affecting the boat before I line up my drift back into my spot. Sandbars can be packed with very tight spots to slide into.

😂😂 Talking about windscreens I was about to go out on the Reef today I jumped in my 4x4 put the it into gear as I stated to move I hit F-ing gutter of the house and smash my windscreen witch was toughen glass and side window on the boat and totally fucked the alloy frame so no fishing today instead I spent the hole day straighten and welding the windscreen frame now I'll have to get me a sheet of tinted polycarbonate next week or might cheap out and get a sheet of plexiglass,, I hope the weather still good tomorrow out on the Reef to fill up my freezer ... Incase if you're wondering I'm in North Queensland and it's the great barrier Reef

that's why we use polycarbonate, and not acrylic for the windshields. I've seen polycarbonate windshields looking near perfect after 40 yrs on the water, you also can wet sand and polish them no problem.

Acrylic is Plexiglass, which is a brand name and is cell cast. There is also extruded acrylic. Polycarbonate is Lexan(another brand name). Sort of like a JetSki is only made by Kawasaki, but everyone, like a knucklehead calls them all JetSkis.

I have a 1960 Glasspar Citation (fully and beautifully restored both structurally and aesthetically) with a 1969 Mercury Merc 650 65 horsepower outboard. That dang thing is unkillable. Simple is an understatement. It just works.

We replace these when they get this way as well. I wonder if your plastic company can make this from polycarbonate?

The bonding chemical for plexiglass is methalene chloride, often called Hot Glue.

Hey Aaron. Love the channel. Always great content and have been a subscriber for some time. I’ve got a 2003 Yamaha 90 Tlr 2 stroke. I’m going to die on that simple 2 stroke hill. It Wasn’t circulating water so I rebuilt the water pump. Didn’t help. I had to go through the exhaust intake (absolutely gross) and pull the power head to extract bolts. While I was at it I replaced all the gaskets and thoroughly cleaned everything. Got it all back together and now get far more water than this baby has seen in a long time. So much so, that it’s leaking water out of the top of the drive shaft but under the power head (not into the bottom cowling). Just above the mid section towards the transom where the drive shaft spins. Right above the apron. I’m not sure what to do at this point. So I started to rebuild the water pump again hoping to avoid pulling the power head off once more. Any ideas?? I have been spinning my wheels trying to sort this thing out. Once I get the lower unit back on I’ll fire it up to see if that helped. If not I guess I’ll pull the power head and my hair out.

Perspex, plexiglass just brand names for acrylic, you can also use polycarbonate which is a different material and is stronger, but it’s harder to polish scratches out of it.

Can u do a video on the Yamaha 4 stroke 115-225. Belt noise coming from the shaft seals? It seem to be an intermittent problem that I’m finding is a problem for a lot of people. I have it on my 150 Yamaha 2005. It makes u think the timing belt is slipping.i think it will make a good video
